About the Charity
Established in the year 1919, BMCWS - The Bombay Mothers & Children Welfare Society is a Public Charitable Trust which strongly believes that young minds can brighten up the future of many. Their initiatives include projects like vocational training, education programmes, empowerment of women, adult literacy programmes, hospitals in Rajgurunagar & Bhilwadi, sanitation programmes, nutrition, awareness, de-worming and health & hygiene programmes. BMCWS supports 92 villages in Rajgurunagar Taluka of Pune district in terms of education, health, hygiene, vocational training, environment and nutrition. As a part of these initiatives, BMCWS sets up Audio Visual e-Learning digital classrooms to make education more interactive and interesting for children from these villages and hereby bridge the gap between rural and urban education. Since October 2012, BWCWS has successfully setup digital classrooms in about 72 schools.
This initiative really raised the standard of education in rural schools and has become a great tool for teachers as students like it a lot. It has increased efficiency manifold, improved attendance drastically and changed the attitude of parents towards education of their children. YVO channelized the donation received for the month of April 2016 towards setting up digital classrooms in tribal schools in the villages of Argadeshwar, Barapati, Shelu & Ralevasti. Digital Classrooms for 4 Tribal Schools in Rajgurunagar - These digital classrooms setup with your Rs.300 will shape lives of about 61 boys and 51 girls from these tribal schools by making education more intuitive and fun for them.
