About the Charity
Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal (SSM), a voluntary organization, has been active in integrated sustainable rural development since 1959. The focus of its activities has always been on the deprived rural communities, especially women and girls. SSM has been working in 10 blocks of Nanded and Beed districts of Maharashtra; changed the lives of over 30000 families through its multidimensional activities. Presently SSM is working for drought relief in 8 districts of Marathwada region through emergency relief to farmers, fodder for cattle, soil and water conservation and employment generation. Nanded district has been suffering drought for the last 3 years.
YVO channelized a large part of the donation received for the month of May 2016 towards equipping 8 villages of Nanded district with 3000 litre water tanks SSM has taken up training and awareness programmes for Watershed Development in 9 villages and for Animal Welfare in 100 villages. The beneficiaries of these programmes are marginal farmers from different age groups with very low income. YVO channelized the balance donation received for the month of May 2016 towards equipping SSM with training equipments (LCD projector and its board) for conducting the Watershed Development and Animal welfare trainings and also showcasing documentary films, photos, success stories, etc. of their development projects to further spread the awareness.
